Let's pretend that corporations didn't exist. Let's pretend you were doing the following first....
• Owned your own business.
• Made your own hours.
• Do something once, get paid continuously after your initial effort.
• Significant tax benefits because our founding fathers set up the original laws of this country to benefit business owners.
• Built relationships with people of your choice.
• Helped people by sharing things with them that could improve their lives.
• Spent as much time with the people most important to you as you wanted. (family & friends)
• If you decided to take a vacation, you just took it whenever you wanted.
• If you or someone you loved got sick or needed time off, you took as long as you needed.
• Whether you went on vacation, took a sick day or just decided to relax, you still got paid.
• You surrounded yourself with people that wanted you to succeed.
• You had mentors that would guide you to success.
• You personal development would be nurtured in a way to maximize your potential in every aspect of your life.
• Money would not be an issue in your life, even health care would be covered.

Then someone comes along and introduces something to you called a "corporation" and is offering you this new thing called "employment"...
• Set hours per week, usually 40.
• You only get paid while you are working. Get paid for one hour once. Can not make more money than the hours you work.
• No extra tax benefits.
• Time away from family and friends.
• Work with people you don't know or particularly care for.
• One or two weeks of vacation per year, provided it is pre approved, if at all and not during certain times of the year, especially the holidays.
• Vacation will likely be an unpaid vacation for many.
• Weekends may be required. Sometimes nights too.
• Unhealthy work environments common. (smoking, toxins, dangerous equipment, etc.)
• Limited number of sick days per year and doctor's note required in some cases.
• Salary capped. No getting paid what your worth
• Raises are seldom and often don't match the rate of inflation.
• No job security. (It's a right to work state, corporate downsizing so shareholders will be happy instead, someone will work for less, the boss doesn't like you, the corporation went out of business, etc.)
• Benefits taken away and there's nothing you can do about it.
• Office politics dictate whether you will receive a promotion. Rarely will your talent be the deciding factor.

Which one are you going to choose? People helping people or being leveraged by some corporation in order to increase their profit and pay their shareholders huge dividends? Would you rather build lasting relationships with people or continue to deal with a job that ultimately leads to barely getting by, year after year?

It's up to you. I've made the decision. I'm here to help when your sick and tired of being sick and tired. Decide. Commit. Succeed.

Well accountability to one's self, as well as if you choose another is crucial to succeed in anything. One of those things I struggle with is diet. I know my heart is in the right place, but the things I stuff in my mouth say otherwise. How many of you struggle with this same thing? Well I came across an article, that many of you will know the author...and I found it in passing...and due to it hitting home, Its being shared in its entirety here on FitbyBurgan. I hope it does for you what it did for me...a straight forward, smack you around approach to being accountable to the foods that we shove in our faces so often. Lets be a little better, lets do it better, focus longer, and create the life we need, so we can live like no other, because we sacrificed for a period to make a change for the better. How much different would your life be if you took control, lost 5, 10, 20, 30, 50 lbs. The end of last year I was 198....just weighed in at 165 on a physical....you can do this keep pressing play, keep searching for the good foods that build your body. Take control of your life, take control of your future, take control of your health and BRING IT! Eat this not That

Here is the article I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Closet Garbage Eater - Tony Horton (Creator of P90X)

You know who you are. You’ve got all the answers and your lousy at taking sound advice because it’s easier to be lazy. The tilt-a-whirl of disappointment goes round and round and you pretend everything is okay. You’re not fooling anyone and everyone else knows what you’re up to. It’s easy to lack self discipline because you’re not alone. Misery loves company.

I’m sick and tired of hearing why you can’t stop eating crap. Stop blaming your thyroid, boyfriend, childhood and ancestry because it’s not working. The problem is your inability to face reality. The real issues are your lack of accountability, willpower, determination and the lousy company you keep. It’s also your lame plan or lack there of. Your reasons why suck and you don’t tell the truth about what you stuff in your face when no one is looking.

Your horrendous eating habits is the American terrorist within. If the level of disease caused by unhealthy choices continues at this alarming rate then we will destroy ourselves without any help from the bad guys. Fad diets, pills and miracle potions used to lose weight never work in the long term and they never will. Dozens of studies show that calorie control diets that still allow you to eat forms of unhealthy food always fail. I’ve never met anyone who started a “weight lose only” diet and stayed on it. So you lost 50 pounds and kept it off for 5 years. Why did you gain it all back in 6 months during year six? Are you proud of that?

When diet deprivation becomes too much the closet eating begins. Your reasons for falling off the wagon are plenty and you’ll defend them till you’re blue in the face. Good for you for choosing the option that required you to be lazy again. Choosing gluttony is no way to build your manifesto my friend. What is your reason for being on this earth? Why do you really put that garbage in your mouth? Do you want to know why? Do you want to look at it closely? Do you care enough?

The simple answer is choice. I hope you weren’t expecting something more complicated. How do you choose what to be? How will you work to be better than before? Who will you surround yourself with? How long will your better choices last? Will you continue to be the closet garbage eater or will you finally get your act together, stop making it about you all the time and begin to be an example to the people in your life who need your help?

Skinny Kid Turns Fitness Guru

Tony Horton Quotes

Tony Horton grew up in Connecticut and attended the University of Rhode Island. While attending college, he became enamored with acting and moved to Hollywood to pursue his dream. There was only one problem: Tony’s look didn’t quite fit the Hollywood standard of buff and beautiful. His scrawny body epitomized the classic 98-pound weakling cliché.

From Non-existent to Getting Noticed

Determined to make it in Hollywood, Tony took charge of his own destiny and began exercising at the famous World Gym in Venice, California. He hoped to pump up his scrawny physique and realize his acting dreams. He didn’t want the bulky, awkward look of the overly muscled bodybuilders who frequented the gym. An acquaintance, accomplished triathlete Mark Sisson, introduced him to training techniques that promote speed and flexibility in addition to balanced, natural muscle growth.

Beachbody Buff

Two friends, Carl Daikeler and Jon Congden, discovered Tony when beginning their new company, Beachbody Fitness. They asked Tony to star in their new workout videos. This gave him exposure and credibility. He began his own video workout endeavors, sponsored by Beachbody Fitness. His first release in 2001, Power90, was a boot-camp style program designed for in home use. Several DVDs later, he stars in an entire series of videos showcasing his special muscle confusion and interval training techniques. The latest are P90X and P90X Plus, along with his many P90X One on One Discs.

I read this earlier, and I love it...it is all of us that are parents....we need to remember to take care of us as well as our kiddos...we can't be a walking time bomb...so take a walk on the path of a parent for a moment.

Hey Mom --- You Busy - by Christine Dwyer - Super Star Diamond Coach - Team Beachbody

Can you run me to practice? Can you iron my shirt? Be at my game at 5. When’s dinner? I don’t have any clean clothes! We don’t have anything to eat in this house. Can I have some friends over?

Ok. So you’re pulled in every direction, overworked, not getting enough sleep but more than enough stress, and just weighed down by a never ending schedule? Even though we think we are taking care of and running around for everyone else, we’re really not a lot of help in this state. We’ve got to take care of us.

But wait, you’ve got your to-do list scheduled perfectly and you follow it to the T, so why still so chaotic? Just because we’ve organized our chaos, doesn’t make it any less chaotic. Sometimes we have to drop some things off the list.

No. Say it with me. No. We’ve got to say no. If we just keep doing, and doing, and always saying yes to everything, no one is going to turn that down.

Delegate! Yes, the kids can help and so can the hubby. Share the wealth…of things to do!

Review the kids’ agendas. Are they involved many different activities, which leaves you feeling guilty because you can’t make it to every one? Do they need to be in them all?

Being the best mom to your children isn’t being the overcommitted mom that does every single thing, runs around tirelessly and constantly sacrifices her own time and happiness. That only leaves us run down and unable to give our kids our love and affection, which is what they really desire.

So take a step back and reflect for a minute before you go flying into another jam packed day full steam ahead. Why are things so hectic, chaotic and out of hand. It’s often our own doing and scheduling. So let’s fix it. What if you don’t do this item or this thing? I mean really – what is the consequence?

Eliminate what we can. Delegate what we can. Don’t feel guilty – it is only going to make you better at what you can do, and less tired and stressed so you are that happy mom that you really want to be. Make time for you. Whether it’s heading to the spa to get a pedicure, some shopping, reading a book in the park, a hot, relaxing bath – whatever helps you unwind – schedule THAT into your schedule and don’t miss that appointment. You deserve it Mom.

Remember to take care of yourself, take those time outs, and say no on occassion, it only makes you better, and it keeps you from like I said above being a walking time bomb.

Until next time. Keep Pushing Play, and Decide, Commit, Succeed
