The following write up came after reading from the books and watching the videos from: Pulling Together by John J Murphy and The Power of Teamwork By Scott Beare and Michael McMillan
"The greatest accomplishments in life are not achieved by individuals alone, but by proactive people pulling together for a common good."
The Dictionary definition of TEAM: TEAM |tēm| noun [treated as sing. or pl. ] a group of players forming one side in a competitive game or sport. • two or more people working together : a team of researchers • two or more animals, esp. horses, harnessed together to pull a vehicle.

A team is always about two or more “I”, each doing his, her or its job to achieve the team’s mission. They say there is no "I" in Team...but there are a whole lotta "I" functioning toward a shared goal. Look behind every winner and you will find a great coach. Look out in front of every superstar and you will see a positive role model. Look alongside every great achiever and you will find caring people offering encouragement, support and able assistance. Rising to this level of interdependent thinking can be challenging and difficult. Looking beyond oneself, asking for help or accepting help can feel risky. But people are not given life to simply take from one another. We are here to give. Our mission in life is to offer our gifts to benefit one another, to create mutual gain in the world. This is called teamwork—a win/win mindset stemming from a genuine commitment to the rules that allow it to happen.
  1. 1. Put the Team First 2. Communicate Openly and Candidly 3. Be Part of the Solution, Not the Problem 4. Respect Diversity 5. Ask and Encourage the Right Questions 6. Use a Rational Problem-Solving Process 7. Build Trust with Integrity and Example 8. Commit to Excellence 9. Promote Interdependent Thinking 10. Pull the Weeds
These 10 rules for high performance teamwork will allow you and your team to achieve synergistic results that exceed anything one individual can do alone.

Every great accomplishment begins with a dream.. -Dreams form a vision -Vision establishes our beliefs -beliefs determine our actions -action on our beliefs accomplish our dreams Taking these steps allows us to take charge of our destiny. This philosophy works as a team as well. When people come together as a team, share a dream, and focus on reaching their goals together, there is a very good chance they'll accomplish what they set out to do! I recently read that, "Accountability, integrity, respect, and commitment are notable values shared by each person on the the Blue Angels team." Those traits form trust, which is the most valuable of all, and the foundation for a team. Without trust a team can not work together.

So what is the level of Trust in your team? Do you have a shared goal? Do you trust your teammates? Do you have an ambition that needs the power of team to succeed? There are many a question you can ask yourself. But in the end, Extreme Dreams Depend on Teams.
