Are You Making this #1 Email Mistake?

Okay...I'll admit I've been feeling a bit overwhelmed with my inbox...and my facebook messages box....so I felt that what I learned today was perhaps just for me...but perhaps it may benefit you as well.

Doesn't it seem Email never stops?  Some days, it can seem like ALL we do is answer emails!  It’s easy to become overwhelmed because many times we just don’t know what to do with the emails, so they sit and fester in the inbox.

The biggest mistake people make with emails is they don’t convert their action emails into tasks.

Stop treating your inbox like your to-do list!  First, it’s much easier to create a task – with appropriate deadlines and reminders – so that you can be sure you’ll get the action done.  Second, it’s very difficult to even KEEP your inbox as a to-do list.  If you have 3000 emails in your inbox, are you saying you have 3000 to-dos?  This is overwhelming so what do we do – we ignore them all!

Want to know what to do with EVERY email in your inbox?  Simply apply the 4D’s:

The 4D’s are:
  1. Do it:  If replying to an email will take less than 2 minutes, then do it now!
  2. Delete it:  If you’re 99% sure you don’t need it, delete it!
  3. Delegate it:  Who is the one really responsible?
  4. Designate it:  Create the task, or add to your calendar – designate the time to complete it!
Email doesn’t have to be the bane of your existence.  If you treat it like the tool it is, email can actually HELP you be more productive!

I hope this helps...I know it has just opened up my eyes...after reading about the 4D's I'm already tracking on a road to success with my inbox.

Are you Ready to Take the Beachbody Challenge?

Every month I will be hosting a challenge for people to take part in but it’s not going to be like any other challenge, this will be different in a good way. I have hosted VERY successful challenges and have seem a lot of my friends and customers have GREAT results and success but there was also something that bothered me when I hosted them… it bothered me so much that I actually stopped doing challenge for awhile and it was because I would have so many people commit and then a small number follow through. THE BEACHBODY CHALLENGE

I was just doing some pondering on how we can really push ahead in life, in our business time, our free time, our success time.  It comes from what I like to refer to as the 4 P's.

1.  When you started out in your home based business did you have a plan?

As for me, no I didn't, in fact after a month or 2 I was going what the heck am I doing, but 2 months in a new field is hardly enough to get your feet wet...so I trudged on....which brings me to the next question.

2.  Did you have a purpose for you and your business?

This one is easier to say yes I did...I knew why I was getting started in my business...it was to push towards more free time, more family time, and a more rewarding lifestyle....but what is it for you?  Each of our purposes our WHY's are different...it may be that you just wanted to make an extra 500 a month without working at a gas station or a fast food chain...who knows but you what your purpose is.

Did you have strategy for how you were going to make a profit?

Heck no....but I knew I was passionate about something new in my life....you are probably the same, just not sure how to lay out that strategy....so where does this strategy come from?

These are just some of the power P’s you need to have in you and your business from home. In fact, any business needs the power P’s to really stand out in a crowd.
Every business needs to have an organized structure to have success. An organized structure has the four P’s of Power, Purpose, Plan and Profit. Businesses that have no structure are often not businesses but hobbies. You work at them when you feel you have the time to do something. Lets talk about what the 4 P’s are and how they bring structure to your home based business.

Power: Power is how to become a truly powerful creator and entrepreneur. When you run your own home based business on-line or through social media platforms. You are a creator. You create your own ideas, your own vision of were you want to be. You create your own blog, website, nerve center. The power to create your own paycheck. To write as many zero’s as you want. You hold the power to create this all within yourself. To create a brand of yourself “a powerful and creative home business entrepreneur.”

Purpose: This is a unknown word for most people in the Corporate work force. Your purpose in the corporate world is to go to work.  Day in and day out show up do the task, go home, receive a check on the 1st and the 15th.   Do what your told to do and complete your task or get in trouble. This is not purpose it is corporate servitude. Real purpose is discovering your own marketable gifts, strengths and your unique purpose which drives you. Your purpose is doing what you really desire to do in life.

Plan: You have to develop a plan for you and your business. In most successful businesses your plan will be a part of your purpose and driven by your passion. I have a plan to build a socially viral on-line brand around my passion to help people build and develop successful home based businesses through the skills and expertize I have within myself. My plan is to help bring out your skills and help you see your purpose and passion.

Profit: Every business has to have a profit or it is not a business it is a hobby which is costing you money. But I am not just talking about how to make money on a product. I am talking about how to turn your knowledge into a multi 5 and 6 figure monthly income consistently.

Hey everyone, I thought I would sit down and throw together a few thoughts that I'm learning from my weekly fit clubs.  The obesity crisis in America is so huge.  We have a big roll to play in this as individuals, as trainers, nutritionists, coaches, and parents.

We find that since 1985 when they really started tracking the statistics of obesity that it has sky rocketed.  The website: http://www.cdc.gov/obesity/data/trends.html, shares a pictorial view of how quickly this trend has spread across the United States.

This brings me to the title of what we are doing here in the great 208 State....from the East to the West Side, and we'll soon move across the state like a wide spread storm... a group of people united, who are after the mission at hand in ending the trend of obesity, we are sharing fitness, and health, and nutrition with people for free at weekly fit clubs.....using world class workouts, such as P90X, Insanity, Slim in 6, RevAbs and so many others and sharing fitness with their communities for free....but this isn't all, we are inviting those who attend to pay it forward to share the treasure of health with others.  Let them come and enjoy the atmosphere, taste Shakeology, or other nutritional items, and the best part...flat out have a great time.

Here in the 208 we are after it, we are going to change lives, help others, and be a movement for good in this nation, when this nation needs us most we will be there, taking a stand, and sharing that we can take back our bodies, our fitness, and our health.

Here is a fact...You are NOT too busy, what you probably haven’t done is, schedule in the time to work out or you haven’t made it a priority in your life. It’s just an excuse, and first thing you have to do, is admit that you are making excuses. I think nowadays, we can all have an argument on who is busier than whom, correct?

I have had many obstacles in my life that could easily be used as an excuse as to why I wasn’t working out.  From anything to a day to day job computer desk job, to flying a helicopter a few times a week, to family needs and then Team Beachbody coaching.  Flying all night, working all day; makes for an easy recipe to just get done with it all, come home and plop on the couch and watch  tv.

I have a gorgeous wife, and two beautiful kiddos, I basically work 2 full time jobs (Information Assurance Manager, and Helicopter pilot (military)),  as well as finding and developing fitness professionals for a major fitness company where I’m working in creating a monster downline and achievement in the Team Beachbody home business. I was also scheduling and presenting trainings on weekends (3rd job) and so much more! Was that an excuse, could be, but wasn’t.
I’ll be honest, I personally don’t LOVE working out all the time, I have my days that I just want to put it off, however I’ll be VERY honest in saying, if it wasn’t for me leading a group of many amazing coaches, as well as customers to their success in fitness and health coach with the Team Beachbody business, I probably wouldn’t think to work out as much.  Its called engaged, as well as being accountable...it makes me work harder, it will make you work harder!
 If those things aren’t your goals or perhaps you don't even have the opportunity to do that, you don’t have to believe that’s what you have to do, to do it. You may just need to find the reason for accountability. Because, that is one of mine.  Sharing with others helps me to become more in my own fitness.  Waking up at 5:18 every morning to get my workout done is because I owe it to my body, and I owe it to those who look up to me to lead them to something more.

I think back a few years ago...I went to flight school....during that time, I didn’t schedule in working out. Left it up to it would only be a couple days, I’ll get back into it. The struggles of waiting to getting homework done, flight schedule always changing, I just kept putting it off, all formed an excuse to not fit in exercise. I did just that! Didn’t schedule it and left it up to how I felt that day and if I had time to work out.  Guess what I didn't do anything!  My PT scores suffered, as well as my body suffered!


What ever is important to you will get done.  If its not, it won't its that simple.
 

So the moral of this is, schedule it! Life is busy! You can easily let it take over you! If you work for someone else, work from home, or don’t even have a job, your day can easily escape you and get filled with errands and other people’s requests.
Each day, start with these tips to ensure you fit in exercise:
1) Get your work out gear ready the night before!
2) Make your To-Do list which includes your work out
3) Put it on your actual calendar- schedule the EXACT time you will work out!
4) Set an alarm reminder for 30 mins before your scheduled time
5) If you are overwhelmed with things to do when your work out time hits, and you HAVE to do them, change up the length and intensity of your work out to be faster and more intense.

The things you do for other people, the business you build, the meals you make, the errands you run are temporary. How you feel about how you look, your energy level, and your overall positive feeling that you did something for yourself is the fountain of youth. That is longevity, so make it a priority.
